Minnie Iona Long

Funeral service for Mrs. Minnie Iona Long, 92, was held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the College Heights Baptist Church, Chickasha.

Rev. C. Davis, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Midwest City, and Rev. W. P. Mugg of Walker Baptist Church or Pauls Valley officiated.

Music was furnished by Rev. Raymond Culp, organist, and Mrs. Jan Crumm, soloist.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Bill Freels, Reg Hammon, Duane Carter, Kenneth Epperson, Ron Dinger, Don Kimberling, Jimmy Smith, and Charles Landon.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Minnie Iona Long

Funeral service for Mrs. Minnie Iona Long, 92, Choctaw, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the College Heights Baptist Church, with Rev. Harold Davis, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Midwest City, and Rev. W. P. Mugg, pastor of the Walker Baptist Church, Pauls Valley, officiating.
Mrs. Long was born July 22, 1883, in Saltillo, Miss. She died Wednesday in Muskogee General Hospital.

Mrs. Long and Joseph Soloman Long were married in Mississippi on Sept. 18, 1897. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1930. They were the parents of ten children. A daughter and a son also preceded her in death.

The Long's moved to Oklahoma in 1916 and lived and farmed in this area from 1926 to 1943. They lived in the Meridian Community.

Mrs. Long had lived in the Choctaw area for the last six years. She was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Bill Long of Yukon; seven daughters, Ms. Villa McClung of Wagoner, Mrs. Leona Wood of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Alta Betts of Lexington, Mrs. Vera Chapman of Chickasha, Mrs. Ola McDowell of Bethany, Mrs. Modine Stevens of Choctaw, and Mrs. Gladious Stevens of Denver Colo.; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Sevier Funeral Home.
