Ola Pearl Long McDowell

Ola Pearl McDowell was born May 17th, 1913, the 7th of 10 children in Tupelo, Mississippi, daughter of Sol and Minnie I. Long. She married Elmer Glen McDowell on December 30, 1933 and is survived by him at the home.

They had lived at 7513 NW 38th for the past 43 years. She departed this life July 30, 1996, following an extended illness.

Other survivors include a son, Raymond McDowell and wife Charlotte of Mustang, two daughters, Sue Kimberling and husband Don of Tulsa, and Glenda Hamman and husband Reg of North Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was loved by 9 grandchildren, Glenette McDowell Russell, Eddie McDowell, Kari Kimberling Romoser, Matt Kimberling, Kevin Hamman, Chad McDowell, Tim Kimberling, Kyle Hamman, and Adam McDowell. Ola was proud of the 5 spouses of her grandchildren, Tim Russell, Kari McDowell, Mark Romoser, Angie McDowell, and Leigh Kimberling.

She cherished her 7 great-grandchildren, Hollie Russell, Brent Russell, Blake McDowell, Jake Romoser, Brooke McDowell, Zachary Romoser, and Kolton McDowell.

Of the 10 brothers and sisters, 8 have preceded her in death. Those surviving are sister, Gladius Stevens and husband Leon of Devol, Oklahoma, and sister-in-law Jean Long of Roff, Oklahoma.

She was a long time member of Putnam City Baptist Church, active as a Sunday school teacher and involved in WomenÕs Missionary Union. In recent years, she was a member of the Council Road Baptist Church where she enjoyed the music ministry and bible preaching.

As a member of a national travel club and part time resident of south Texas, she will be missed by a host of friends locally and across the nation. Her motto of life was Live, Love, Laugh and Learn.
