Dec. 24 1925:  All spent the night at our house and had a real good time. Mother (Minnie Iona MILLER LONG) Dad (Joseph Solomon LONG), Villie (Villa Mae LONG BUTTS), Wiley (BUTTS), Thelma (BUTTS), Leona (LONG WOOD), Jessie (WOOD), Minnie D. (WOOD), Alta (LONG), Vera (LONG), Paul (LONG), Samantha (LONG), Ola (LONG), Modeen (Modine LONG), Gladius (LONG), Bill (LONG), Mr. & Mrs. John LONG, Mattie (LONG), Johnnie (LONG), Mrs. WOODS & Emily. We played Fish.

Jan. 25 1925 (1926?):  Mrs. WOODS died.

Oct 20 1926:  My Brother in Law Mr. W. (Wiley) BUTTS died.

Dec. 2 1926:  We left Connerville (Oklahoma) & moved to Chickasha (Oklahoma).

Vera (LONG) Edd (CHAPMAN) Alta (LONG) Clarice & I went to Mr. FULLER's & stayed a while that night Dec. 1 1926.

March 30 1927:  I (Samantha LONG) was 17 years old & had a good time if it was raining. Me:

April 6 1927:  A bad storm came & tore things up very bad & the water got up high. Me:

April 17, 1927:  It was Easter Sunday. We went driving & had a bad morning. Paul (LONG), Alta (LONG), Cassie (STOVER), Villie (Villa LONG BUTTS), Thelma (BUTTS), Carl (William Carl SMITH), Ethel (NASH?), Shorty (?), Floy (STOVER), Vera (LONG), & my self (Samantha LONG). Me:

May 20, 1927:  We all got our 8th Grade diplomas. Elizabeth H., Floy S. (STOVER), Minnie N., Thelma B. (BUTTS), Gladys S., Juanita S., Burl S., Fay J., Freda H., Orvil L., Buster M., James L., Nelson M., Gilbert F., Lewis H., Dewy S., & My Self (Samantha LONG).

July 4 1927:  Emily, Carl (SMITH), Viola, Ben Marry, Mary Bell & Carl HARSON was with us. Me:

Dec. 25, 1927:  Dear Samantha (LONG): When you see a frog up in a tree pull his tail and think of me. Sevola SMITH

Dec. 25 (1927):  Remember this sunday is xmas day. when you get married you will run away. Modine (LONG)

Dec. 25, 1927:  Dear old pal; when I am in the kitchen frying meat think of me and my big feet. Floy STOVER

Dec. 24 1927:  We all spent a happy Saturday night at home. Mother (Minnie MILLER LONG), Dad (Joseph S. LONG), Villie (Villa LONG BUTTS), Leona (LONG WOOD), Jessee (WOOD), Minnie D. (WOOD), Vera (LONG CHAPMAN), Edd (CHAPMAN), Paul (LONG), Alta (LONG), Dave (LONG?), Samantha (LONG), Ola (LONG), Modeen (Modine LONG), Thelma (BUTTS), Gladius (LONG), Bill (LONG). Dec. 25, 1928:  Hello youngon - Here I sit on Xmas day eating candy to pass the time away. Ola LONG

Dec. 25, 1927: Its now begining to get dark we have all spent this Christmas as happy as a Lark. By Cassie STOVER

Dec. 25 1927:  All spent a happy day at home. Mother (Minnie MILLER LONG), Dad Joseph S. LONG), Villie (LONG BUTTS), Thelma (BUTTS), Alta (LONG), Paul (LONG), Dave (LONG?), Samantha (LONG), Ola (LONG), Modeen (Modine LONG), Gladius (LONG), Bill (LONG), Floy (STOVER), Cassie (STOVER), Sevola (SMITH), Carl (SMITH), Ray (SMITH), Frank (STARNES?) & Mr. & Mrs. BALEY (BAILEY?), Rachel, Artie, May, Grace, Lucil, Suny, & Allen.

Dec. 26, 1927:  J.S. LONG and Family, Dave (LONG?), Mr. Dee STARNS & Family spent the day at Mr. J.E. WOODs & Edd CHAPMAN. All had a nice time & lots of fun untill the Sad news came that little Laveta LINDSAY was dead.

Jan. 2, 1928:  9 old years. Yesterday was New Years and I know that. It isn't me but it is just "Old Spat" ("Spat" was the nickname of Thelma BUTTS).

Dec. 31 1927:  Ola (LONG) and I (Samantha LONG) spent the night at Mr. & Mrs. STOVERs. We watched the old year out & the new year in. Cassie (STOVER) and I ringed it out we all danced and had lots of fun. Ola (LONG) & I (Samantha LONG) came back in 1928. All present at Mr. STOVERs Sat night was Mr. & MRs. STOVER, Bill, Clarence, Nola, Cassie (STOVER), Floy (STOVER) Carrie, William, Troy, Ola (LONG) & My self (Samantha LONG). Mr. & Mrs. Troy STOVER & baby Buster MONCRIEF & Floy's (STOVER) cousins came for dinner. Vera (LONG CHAPMAN), Edd (CHAPMAN), Frank (STARNES?), Jessee (STARNES?), Oliver (STARNES?) came in the after noon and brought us home We all spent the evening at home.

Feb. 20 1928:  Alta (LONG) Paul (LONG) & I (Samantha LONG) joined the Methodist Church at Arcadia. Bro. GROVER had preched a wonderful Sermon. Me:

Feb. 25 1925:  Daves brothers Walter & Erman came to see us we sure was glad to see them meet.

March 4 1928:  We enjoyed the dinner singing & Preaching at our new church for it was just finished and named Friendship. Vesta taken Supper with us. Carl (SMITH) Demp (HODNETT) & Howard was with us Sunday evening.

March 18 1928:  Villie (Villa LONG BUTTS), Paul (LONG), Dave, Spat (Thelma BUTTS) & Myself (Samantha LONG) went to Sunday S at Friendship. Hilida & Ethel (NASH?) come home with us poor Alta (LONG) was sick But tryed to put on a smile & make us laugh. We had a good time. Me:

March 22 1928:  Old Gene TOLBERT & Audie AKINS came to see us Old Johnston Co. friends they went to see Vera (LONG CHAPMAN) & Edd (CHAPMAN) first. Me:

March 18:  We all are enjoying the New Records Dave bought yesterday. I know Hildia liked that Jam it was so green! Me:

1927:  Say lets Put this little No, down in your Date Book. I - Vera (LONG), Wasn't tired of the Home Folk. Nor my Name. Just wanted a sweet Husband and a Change. On Saturday Night Nov. 12, 1927, Mr. Edd CHAPMAN & I were united in marriage. He was Dressed in Gray & I in Blue. So we Promised that night each other to be true. Now U.C. Why we are as happy as can be. Just Love, A Sis, Mrs. Edd CHAPMAN.

Jan. 21 1928:  Alta (LONG), Vera (LONG CHAPMAN) & Edd (CHAPMAN) went to Connerville, Okla.

Jan. 15 1928:  Mr. STOVER & family, Miss NEWMAN, Jessie & Frank STARNS spent the day with us we all had a nice time Paul (LONG), Dave, Willie & Frank thought some girl would come after them be cause it was leap year. Ha, ha

Jan. 22 1928:  Mr. & Mrs. J. S. LONG & Family, Mr. ELLIOT & Family, Mr. Troy STOVER & Family spent the day with Mr. John STOVER & family.

Jan. 25:  We moved to Arcadia from Meridian 1928. (Oklahoma)

Nov. 29th 1916:  Villie (Villa LONG) and Wiley (BUTTS) were united in Marriage in Tupelo Miss a happy wedding it was but oh so short.

March 30 1928: Villie (LONG BUTTS) & I washed. Mrs. Bell WOOD & Vanita COTTON was with us part of the day. We were all at home But Alta (LONG) played cat on us & went off. but it was a beautiful day & My birthday.

Well Monk (nickname for Samantha LONG) today you are eighteen and Im almost 30 We washed all day and I'm tired and dirty. Villie March 30, 1928_D.D.

Friday Night Mar. 30 1928: At home. Dear Samantha: today you are 18 years of age. And as good a Sister as ever went on Stage. And we are not married and have no baue. but we have a good time and sure do go. A loving Sis Alta (LONG)

Yes I made you some Chocolate Pies today then went to the mail box as Bell (WOOD) was leaving. Alta (LONG)

April 2 1928:  I went down to Sevolas (SMITH) Saturday Morning & stayed untill Sunday Night. Sevola (SMITH) & I (Samantha LONG) played with the little lamb. We went to Sunday School S. morning the 1 day of April Sevola (SMITH) Mallie (SMITH) Ray (SMITH) & Myself went to geather. Alta (LONG) Carl (SMITH) & Sevola (SMITH) brought me home. Sevola (SMITH) & I tried to make them mad but I don't think we did. Virgle & Mr. & Mrs. E. HAMMER came S. night & stayed a while. Leona (LONG WOOD), Jess (WOOD) Minnie D. (WOOD), Vera (LONG CHAPMAN) & Edd (CHAPMAN) came & spent part of the day & night. Dad (J.S. LONG) was sick. Me:

April 7 1928:  Mike came & stayed all night with Paul (LONG). Dad (J. S. LONG) and I (Samantha LONG) played Rook with Paul (LONG) & Mike & we beat. When we was playing Rook Rubin came & singed some for us in Spanish & played the harp. We all had a nice time but Paul (LONG) wasn't feeling very well. Me:

Easter Sun. Mar. 8, 1928:  Sunday after noon wife (Vera LONG CHAPMAN) and I spent the evening with Mr. and Mrs. (Joseph & Minnie) LONG we enjoyed ourselves very much. Mr. Edd CHAPMAN

I will finally get this written I'm sure if this thing will quit spittin (ink blots on page). This Sunday afternoon has been well spent at Mother & Dad's (J.S. & Minnie LONG) hunting eggs. I found 5. num num don't you Wish you Could have taken a bi_e. BeBe Edd's Darling (Bebe was the nickname of Vera LONG CHAPMAN)

April 8, 1928:  Dear friend: I have enjoyed myself very much. and I hope you the same. I had some fun hunting for some easter eggs. found 17 and got the prize egg and the prize was a sack of candy. it sure was good No, no. I did not let anybody have any but Carrie so that was good (No, no.) they was a bunch at our house. Modine LONG

April 8, 1928:  I am writing my memory of the day it will be long remembered by some went to sunday School in the morning the crowd injoyed them selves in the after noon hunting Eggs Easter sunday. David SMITH

On Easter Sunday at Longs and sure have enjoyed myself. Carl SMITH Chickasha R.3. Okla

April 8. 1928:  Easter Sun. at home STOVERs, CADDELs, Vera (LONG CHAPMAN) & Edd (CHAPMAN) Dimp (Demp HODNETT) Mutt (Minnie Dennis WOOD) and Carl (SMITH) all have been here together today hunted eggs and had a very good time tho I dont feel very good. Alta (LONG)

April 8, 1928:  Samantha, heare I come a sotting down a wrotting to you. It is Easter Sun and we have all enjoyed our selves fine and hope you will allyayse remember us. on this day. although it has been very cold. ond wasnt very plesont hunting eggs. remember me and dont farget. I have been chilley in a Short Sleeve dress = Ola (LONG)

April 8, 1928:  We all enjoyed the day fine Mr John STOVER & family Demp (HODNETT) & Mut. Vera (LONG CHAPMAN) Edd (CHAPMAN), Mr John CADDEL & family, Mike, Carl SMITH were here with us. Carl (SMITH) found the Easter rabbits. Me:

Pocasset, Okla Apr. 8, 1928:  Dear Aunt: Have enjoyed my self very much today. I found three egg, and Carl (SMITH) found two rabbits and Samanatha (LONG) found one. Carl (SMITH) gave me one and Mutt (Minnie Dennis WOOD) got one. They sure are quit they are about 3 inches long. They will suck a bottle. Well I am going. I as a loving Niece, T.B. (Thelma BUTTS)

4/9.1928: Must Jesus bair the cross a lone and all the world go free no there is a cross for every one and there is a cross for me. J.S. LONG
