JOHN G. SMITH

John was born in Georgia - most likely Harris County - in 1830. He was the son of Simeon Smith  and Levina Perry. John married Mary Jane Mullins August 12, 1852, in Harris Co., Georgia. Mary Jane was born in 1835 in Georgia and was the daughter of William "Billy" Mullins and possibly Elizabeth Betsie Rowe.

John and Mary Jane lived close to Shady Grove Baptist Church in the mountains near West Point, Harris Co., Georgia - about 6 or 8 miles south near the Chattahoochee River, near Mountain Oak Creek.

John and Mary Jane were members of the Shady Grove Baptist church. John died after 1874, Mary Jane died in 1895, and both are buried in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Harris Co., Georgia.

John and Mary Jane had eleven children:

Cora Georgia

Between the years 1875 and 1878 (approx.), three of their children, Owen, William Frank, and _______ came to Texas in a covered wagon. William Frank and _______ returned to Georgia.
