OWEN DEMETRIUS SMITH

Owen was born April 27, 1856 in Georgia - probably in Harris County. He died February 17, 1923 in Oklahoma. He was the son of John G. Smith and Mary Jane Mullins. 

Owen came to Cass Co., Texas in a covered wagon with his brothers Frank and Theophelus around 1880-1882. His brothers later returned to Georgia.

Owen married Mary Elizabeth Stanfield on January 14, 1882 in Cass Co., TX. Mary was the daughter of James W. Stanfield and Marttia J. Beaird.
